Where we stayed
We stayed at Ca’ San Sebastian, in Dorsoduro, at Calle Avogaria 1631.
Somewhere to come back to in the evening.
Dorsoduro lies between the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal. Alongside its major museums are squares, universities and little streets where people go about their shopping or stop for coffee. Campo Santa Margherita is one of the neighbourhood’s gathering places; along the Zattere, the city suddenly opens out onto the water.
This was where we set off for the exhibitions and where we came back afterwards. Our room had that blue coffered ceiling with its gold ornaments, which we photographed more than once.
